13th International Symposium on Wild Fauna
The 13th International Symposium on Wildlife (ISoWiF) serves as a key platform for experts in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems to exchange knowledge and experiences, emphasizing a holistic approach that integrates the natural environment with agroecosystems where wild and domestic biodiversity coexist. Ensuring effective management systems is crucial to maintaining ecological balance and health.
Since its inception in 1998, ISoWiF has adapted its objectives to modern challenges under the overarching theme “Man, Nature, and Ecosystem Services.” This year’s program is structured around three key sessions:
- Terrestrial Ecosystems, focusing on wildlife management, conservation, hunting regulations, and the impact of human actions on environmental protection.
- Aquatic Ecosystems, exploring fisheries conservation, regulations, and management to safeguard fish populations and aquatic environments.
- The One Health Approach, integrating veterinary sciences to study interactions among different species and promote ecosystem protection.
Nadia Piscopo, who is the President of the Executive Committee of the13th IsoWF, expresses gratitude to all contributors who have supported ISoWiF’s continued success, particularly the founding members, universities, institutions, and attendees. She acknowledges their efforts in organizing this event in Vienna’s Museum of Natural History, ensuring a scientifically engaging and socially enriching experience. The symposium promises to be both stimulating and enjoyable, fostering new insights and collaborations.
